The background

Anju Khanna, a graphic designer by education, and a professional designer by vocation grew up in the sylvan surroundings of Rampur.

Anju has an intrinsic understanding of nature and its bounties, and vagaries.

Anju made a humble beginning with a stitching unit, in 1999.

The Development

The realisation that people yearned for original designs with a good fit fueled her creativity.

Anju unveiled a variety of designs in pattiwork and aari embroidery on cotton voile; organdy and organdy voile.

Initially, the stuff was sold semi stitched. But seeing the demand for ready to wear stuff arose the need to have stitched suit sets in standard sizes as well as customisation.

The Evolution

A consistent demand for her creations gave her the impetus to brand her creativity as PEHCHAN.

Pehchan of Delhi was thus formed in the year 2000.

With increasing demand for her creations as well as a desire to give value to a wider group of customers arose the need to expand outside Delhi.

Today, our discerning customers across the length and breadth of India and ouside of India enjoy the creative designs of women's ethnic wear by Anju Khanna.

The firm was granted trademark registration under the name of ‘Pehchan’ with effect from December, 2003.
